Job Description for Expat UG Drill Fitter

The emphasis of this role is to ensure the maintenance schedules are met and exceeded in a safe and efficient manner whilst
ensuring that the local workers are developing their skills and knowledge by way of you sharing your experience and being a role model. You will require boundless energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with people from different cultures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair company rigs, vehicles, and equipment.
Plan, schedule and, organise own work within the requirements of the work plan, and coordinate with other parties as required.
Ensure thorough and meticulous completion of all maintenance records and documentation.
Efficiently record and manage movement in and out of associated mechanical spare parts.
Ensure that workshop and equipment are maintained in first-class appearance and condition at all times.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience working on UG Drill rigs and or Surface Drill Rigs is a requirement.
Ability to mentor, coach and train the Offsider in the day to day tasks required of running a rig;
Ability to organise and establish priorities, following up on outstanding tasks and closing out any completed works/task where necessary;
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, all employees, Management, team members, client representatives, and industrial relations contacts;
Ensure a safe workplace for all stakeholders by maintaining compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies & procedures.
A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times;
Demonstrate a positive work ethic in line with company values;
Be a self-starter who will work with minimal supervision;

Minimum Requirements:

Trade Qualified fitter with their Certificate 3 as a minimum requirement
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
Minimum 3 years expatriate experience
A current passport with 12 months valitity
Be covid vaccinated in accordance with the travel rules and regulations.
First Aid Certificate is desirable;
International HR Drivers licence
