Your role

In your role as a Cloud Engineer/DevOps, you will aid greatly in contributing to our infrastructure's move towards AWS, while focusing also on scalability. At the same time, you will advise/provide the means that enable monitoring of the health of the servers and their efficiency. You will work closely with the Mobile Security team to address their needs and scale-out the production pipelines.

Your responsibilities

Build-out and support our new highly specialized AWS environment
Autonomously set up a MacOS (Intel) based cloud infrastructure on AWS
Fully document every step along the way of setting-up the cloud infrastructure
Upon replicating the steps, the very same result should be expected
Provide automation tools/scripts that were used and aid in the process with the usage of terraform
Provide the means to spawn and halt the servers/instances in question
For the server automation of the infrastructure, the usage of Jenkins is strongly encouraged
Setup monitoring, alerting, and visualization system for said infrastructure

The monitoring system should include notifications of:

Availability and downtime across the infrastructure
Load across the infrastructure
Storage issues across the infrastructure
Means to alter which entities and when they get notified

The system should be capable of logging, across multiple levels (FATAL,ERROR,WARN,INFO,DEBUG), the state of the infrastructure
The system should provide the means to manage said logging

For the satisfaction of the setup of the monitoring, alerting and visualization system, the following technologies are preferred:

Prometheus and Grafana, which are strongly suggested
ELK (Elastic,Logstash,Kibana) - Regardless of the technologies used, the setup must be able to integrate with Pager duty - Setup a troubleshooting process

The troubleshooting process should include steps to:

Restore availability across the servers/instances
Increase the capacity across the servers/instances, to decrease the load (if needed)
Increase the storage availability across the servers/instances, to manage the storage issues (if needed)
Setup an update process

The update process should include steps to:

Update the systems' operating system on demand
Advise on, initialize and improve the infrastructure our pipelines rely on
Work closely with the Mobile Security team

What you bring

Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services and the available security options and best practices

Experience in:

Administering MacOS machines following security best practices
Continuous integration and deployment lifecycle in design, build, test, and deploy
Design and implementation of scalable build pipelines with a focus on parallel execution across multiple instances
Team player outlook who enjoys exchanging knowledge and support amongst colleagues within the team and company

Nice to have:

Experience in infrastructure as code development (CloudFormation or Terraform)
Experience with Kubernetes or containerization technologies
Experienced in automation/scripting
