CONTRACTOR Wanted: Automation Test Engineer

Duration: 3 months
Outside IR35
Rate: £400 per day
Location: Remote / Manchester HQ

Brief: You will work with the IT Director to establish automation frameworks and processes and then provide knowledge transfer and training to a newly hired QA Tester.

Stack is C# .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Javascript

This organisations build web ecommerce platforms with APIs / data integrations that deliver merchandising, gaming and affiliate marketing.

What you'll do
• Analysing requirements and stories/features to derive test cases
• Develop and implement our Automation Test Framework
• Creating and maintaining test scripts
• Manual test script execution
• Defect logging and retesting
• Use of test management and defect tracking tools
• Reporting weekly progress on test preparation and test execution tasks
• Production release testing and production testing
• Collaborating with the team to help develop and support our continuous integration approach
• Working within the team to help developers and others created automated unit tests

Essential Qualities
• First-hand experience as a tester in an agile environment
• Experience testing web and mobile apps
• Experience with using automated testing tools such as Selenium
• Familiarity with Automated build systems such as Team City
• Familiarity conducting Cross Browser Testing using BrowserStack or similar product
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Ability to liaise directly with Product Owner, development teams and other subject matter
experts to resolve queries and problems
• Well organised and high attention to detail
• Able to prioritise and handle multiple priorities

Desirable
• ISQTB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
• Supporting business users during UAT
• Experience with project management tools, such as Trello or Asana
• Familiarity with Jira, and TestRail in the testing process
• Experience with non-functional, performance, and security testing
• Experience with using Git or other version control system
• A good understanding of C# and .Net Core
• Ability to write and execute SQL statements
• Experience with using Visual Studio
• An understanding of BDD and TDD
• Familiarity with automated build systems such as Team City
• Website load testing with JMeter or similar tools
