This role reports directly to the Director of Data Engineering in the UK and will take you out of your comfort zone as you push the possibilities of what Azure and Data can deliver for over 120,000 education institutions.

Here are the sort of skills we’re looking for:

Essential Skills/Experience:
Solid and demonstrable experience with Microsoft Power BI
Highly proficient in both SQL and DAX
Working knowledge of Python or R
Expert in data preparation, modelling and visualisation
Attention to detail in the creation of visual interactions and the user experience
Advanced analytics analysis techniques
Basic knowledge of statistics and highly numerate
Self-starter/able to work collaboratively as part of a team
Confident communicating with stakeholders of all levels including the ability to advise, train and support staff where necessary
Ability to organise and manage own time according to agreed project priorities and
deadlines
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Exposure to Azure Synapse
Accessibility requirements in Power BI and visualisations
Experience in working at all stages of the project lifecycle
Exposure to data engineering and data science principles
Azure process and deployment automation (Azure DevOps)
Knowledge of Education structures (schools, years, courses, classes) and facts (attendance,
attainment etc)
DA-100 certification

A little more about the role:

Data Analysts enable businesses to maximize the value of their data assets by using Power BI.

You will be responsible for designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities that provide meaningful business value through easy-to-comprehend data visualizations. You will also collaborate with key stakeholders across verticals to deliver relevant insights based on identified business requirements.

We’re looking for a fundamental understanding of data repositories and data processing both on-premises and in the cloud. This high profile role will lead on cutting edge data analytics for a national scale Education Ministry multi-year project working in a small and focussed team including data engineering, data science, and education consultancy. The analyst will own the Power BI deliverables working hand in hand with the rest of the project team and will be expected to contribute to both the functional specifications as well as the handover to QA. As it is a small team working on cutting-edge developments, third-line support for the assets provided will also escalate back to the project team.
