PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commodity Strategy:
Support development of Commodity Strategy including definition of strategic supply base, competitive cost, and roadmap to implement strategy
Conduct periodic commodity strategy reviews
Identify and evaluate potential new and viable suppliers to company
Work collaboratively with Core PE, regional pursuit team and regional commodity team to provide costed BOM, and input to Quote team, and with objectives to win more business for company,

Sourcing Selection:
Conduct supplier benchmarking exercise and commercial analysis
Send RFQ's to the preferred suppliers based on Commodity Strategy
Conduct analysis on supplier quotes based on pricing, quality, delivery, and commercial ratings
Negotiate and issue sourcing contracts

Productivity Negotiations
Negotiate annual price reductions with the supply base to support company’s materials budget
Identify the key goal for strategic suppliers.

Supplier Base Relationship Management
Conduct supplier business reviews and manage supplier relationships effectively
Support internal team to drive execution of VAVE initiatives provided by suppliers
Negotiate Payment Terms improvement, Disputed Obsolescence Costs and Charge Backs

Commodity Team Management
Support commodity team activities working with regional commodity buyers, PD, SPE and others.

REQUIREMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS:

+5 Years purchasing experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
Bachelor Degree
Solid negotiation skills
Solid analytical skills
Purchased parts sourcing and negotiations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good personal/employee relations skills
Adequate knowledge of MRP & EDI systems
Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth
Travel will be required (approximately 30 percent) to various supplier locations.
Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external) in a fair and ethical manner.
Must be a self-starter able to work without close supervision
