GVE – Graphics Validation Engineering – This team conducts platform-level testing to stress the VPG product in its end configuration so as to evaluate platform stability and interoperability with common PC applications. Further, they perform evaluation of the power and performance of the system for all VPG driver releases.

At present, the MegaFeature testing is categorized as quantifiable testing.

Set-up and maintain the GVE Test infrastructure used for execution of the Test Suite as well the interface to test management automation
Maintain BKCs and BKMs installed to mirror the latest operational test suite evolving through the early trial runs executed by GVE Test Engineering teams
Monitor GVE test engineering for updates to the test infrastructure and test suite
Execute GVE test cycles as scheduled by the Test Lead
Assemble, store, and report test results
Compile informal test status updates for GVE management per request
Collect and analyse unexpected test results (i.e. fails, failure observations, etc.) to isolate suspected defects from issues with test automation, procedures, or test cases
File defects suspected from test runs
Collaborate with GVE Test Engineering for defect management and fix verification
Hardware support – Acquire and maintain equipment required to run the test cycles.
Hardware Maintenance – maintain boards in functional testing condition, otherwise send boards to appropriate location for necessary reworks and/or repairs

a. Planned Test Execution – Execute forecasted testing and reporting; team to run existing test cases (manual or automated) against known good BKC on GFX baselines. Test execution may include the below additional supporting tasks:

o Product Defect Identification – Identify an unique issue arising from test execution

o Test Automation Baseline Fault Identification – Identify and support problem resolution of automation baseline.

o Failed Test Case Fault Identification – Provide bug analysis, development, and resolution support for failed test cases

b. Ad-Hoc Test Execution – Provide quick reaction force to respond to ad-hoc, urgent test execution requests.

c. Failure Investigation – run testing specifically focused on identifying the signature associated with an error identified in a GFX component

d. Fix Verification – Provide fix verification to close on test cases that previously failed

e. System Maintenance (Expected, but Optional) – Updating and repairing client systems may include updating BIOS, reseating CPUs, etc., It is not expected that a CW will perform major repairs. Instead, it is recommended that they use on-site services (SAS) to assist them in returning the system to a functional state agreeable with the BKC required for certification.

f. Facility Maintenance – Inventory and management of HVI materials (detailed in “General Services” further below)
