Head Housekeeper

Private Residence seeks a Head Housekeeper to assist with the daily cleaning, care, laundry, and management of their household. In addition, this position will be overseeing 2 housekeepers. The successful candidate will be experienced in running a household and they will be an expert in keeping an orderly and efficient home. Main house is approximately 8,600 square feet plus there are 5 ancillary buildings on the property.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Will be managing and overseeing 2 housekeepers.
• Liaising with vendors, contractors, and any other household services
• Maintaining interior and exterior of property
• Taking care of 7 dogs, including walking, feeding, administering medication, etc.
• Pet management • Full charge Housekeeping throughout the residence daily including all rooms and bathrooms, with special attention to beds/bedrooms
• Changing sheets and towels multiple times per week
• Completing the laundry including washing, pressing, and ironing sheets and clothing as necessary
• Maintaining tidy and orderly closets throughout residence; aiding with packing and unpacking for travel
• Maintaining household inventories and procuring supplies as needed
• Running errands, grocery shopping, etc. • Light personal assistance

Essential Functions and Requirements:
• Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Minimum 5 years of related professional experience working in a private home as a Housekeeper
• Experience with working on interior and exterior of property
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Professional, polished, and discreet
• Experience with museum quality cleaning and care for: antiques, silver, fine art, etc.
• Exceptional organization skills and multitask management
• Exceptional dedication to responsibilities; team player, above and beyond attitude
• Must be exceptional with laundry services and feel comfortable handling fine garments and laundry for the family; knowledge of sheet press, hand-washing garments, etc., sewing and/or mending skills a plus
• Must be active and able to move about the home with ease and agility
• Willing and able to care for pets

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9-5 but flexibility is key! During the Season some weekends will be requested but days off will be given during the week.
