Role Summary:

Reporting into the Director of Finance Lead Senior Manager, Credit & Collections is responsible for the management of both Credit & Collections TSMs as well as Equipment Accounts Receivable (A/R) TSMs with a focus on ensuring a high level of internal and external customer service and credit risk management with the ability to meet department targets, goals, and objectives. This individual will conduct themselves in a highly professional manner and promote a collaborative and respectful team environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Coach, mentor and manage the Credit & Collections team and the Equipment A/R team.
Develop strategies that support operations while ensuring optimal department performance.
Maintain efficient and effective collection procedures that support sales growth while balancing credit risk.
Foster strong relationships with Sales, Customer Service and Corporate Teams.
Ensure adherence to all Company Guidelines and Global Credit Policies.
Ensuring appropriate and timely credit authorization and approvals for all Equipment orders.
Perform and/or oversee credit reviews including analysis of customer financial statements and obtaining bank references to assess customer credit worthiness.
Take a solution-oriented approach in resolving internal and external customer facing issues.
Overall responsibility to prepare quarterly Bad Debt Reserve and Large Exposure reporting for discussion and review with senior management.
Analyze bad debts, file documentation with receivers for bankruptcies, and deal with collection agencies as required.
Key point person on all legal matters.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are well documented for all key functions.
Take the lead on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
This position has authority to make independent decisions and/or recommendations on matters of significant importance based on the exercise of discretion and independent judgment within the job duties.

Location:
Greater Stoney Creek/St Catherines Region with Head Office located conveniently off QEW Highway
** This role is 90% remote Only 3-4 Times a month in office for Key Leadership meetings**

Salary Range:
Based on experience plus Bonus 15%

Requirements:

Completion of a university or college program or courses in Credit Risk Management
Certified with the FCI – Credit Institute of Canada (CCP) or pursuing the designation is a considered a great asset
Previous management experience (over 5-10 years)
Frequent exposure to co-workers; handling of internal and external customer queries and calls
PC / computer knowledge – intermediate to advanced: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, understanding of credit bureau reporting
Strong knowledge of legal issues regarding Credit and Collections activities
Computer, reconciliation, and numerical skills are also essential
Highly collaborative and a true team player
Handling of internal and external customer queries and calls
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to interpret financial statements
