Excavator Operator Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Operate excavator machinery for various construction and earth-moving projects.
Execute excavation tasks according to project specifications and safety guidelines.
Perform regular maintenance on the excavator to ensure proper functionality and prevent breakdowns.
Conduct pre-start inspections to identify any potential issues or defects in the equipment.
Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to determine excavation areas and depths.
Dig trenches, holes, and foundations using the excavator as per project requirements.
Load and unload materials onto trucks using the excavator's bucket or other attachments.
Ensure proper disposal of excavated materials and waste in designated locations.
Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries.
Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or damages to the supervisor.

The desired experience for this role includes:

Previous work experience as an excavator operator in similar construction or earth-moving projects.
Knowledge of New Zealand regulations and best practices in excavation and construction.
