Brief Job Description:

Reviews the outcomes of Reliability Centered Maintenance study.
Provides Subject Matter Expert input to RCM study if required.
Reviews the RoK oil & gas industry regulatory requirements and TCO specifications for Instrumentation equipment operation and maintenance. Implements them in his/ her work.
Reviews FGP Instrumentation technical documentation and operations manuals. Uses them when developing FGP Instrumentation Preventive Maintenance (PM) Plan.
Develops FGP Instrumentation PM plan.
Participate in the development and review of instrumentation maintenance procedures.
Agrees and aligns PM plan with other discipline SMEs.
Defines a list of equipment which requires development of Standard Repair Procedures (SRP). Checks quality and comments on SRPs developed by Competency Development Group (CDG).
Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and Start-up of FGP facilities.
Reviews instrumentation testing completed to ensure all required tests / inspections were completed properly before acceptance.
Participates in the investigation and identification of the root causes of instruments failure, in the development of recommendations for the elimination and prevention of such failures.
Provide guidance and leadership in technical matters and to ensure that his group are aware of and are working to current engineering standards and procedures.
Provide technical support to instrument fitters in respect of measuring instruments and materials, and also to other TCO groups
Monitors the technical condition and safe operation of I&C equipment, fire extinguishing unit and fire alarm systems and takes measures to eliminate malfunctions.
Processes and analyzes statistical data on the operation of I&C equipment, identifies deficiencies and develops measures to eliminate them.
Apply general knowledge of principles, terms, and practices of instrumentation engineering to support the design and build of safe and reliable operations.
Work with project teams to provide design and installation expertise to support site projects and optimize existing instrumentation.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Continuously cooperates with the automation support team to ensure safe operation of facilities, jointly provides support during commissioning and operation of new facilities and equipment, and identifies and eliminates issues in the operation of software and hardware controllers.
Support, analyze and develop conclusions regarding areas of improvement and identify opportunities to improve performance and determine acceptable risk tolerance.
Support team members to assess instrumentation engineering development and application opportunities and further distribution across common practice areas
Execute and support instrumentation engineering standards and deliverables in capital and maintenance work.
Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning, prioritizing and scheduling work.
Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices.
Develops, selects and implements engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems.
May lead field teams through installations, loop checks, issue identification, analysis and repairs related to primary skill area.
Provides technical guidance to newer professionals.
Prioritizes work and prepares engineering plans that accurately convey work sequence, priority and resource requirements.
Reviews and checks project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards and makes design recommendations.
Influences team members and promotes ideas to improve design and implementation practices.

Job Specification and requirements:

Minimum BS in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or a related field combined with relevant experience
5 years and more experience with Oil and Gas industry field instrumentation
Strong safety focus in performance of daily activities with 100% compliance to site safety procedures.
Knowledge and application of standards, codes, and industry practices including ISA, NEC, NFPA, and API.
Ability to write instrument specifications
Assist in check-out, commissioning, and startup of equipment
Exposure to Instrumentation Sizing Tools and Software.
Familiar with instrumentation calibration and calibration strategies
Ability to troubleshoot a range of automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems
Support multiple projects simultaneously
Good interpersonal skills working in a team environment
