Brief Job Description: Petroleum Engineer (Reservoir Engineer) reports to the Reservoir Engineering Team Supervisor of Reservoir Management Department (RMG). Performs routine and specialized engineering duties to support ongoing RMG activities. Wide use and application of complex Reservoir Management principles and concepts in assigned specialty. Has knowledge of principles and techniques in other related disciplines. Effectively applies project/field management skills.
The duties of this position include, but not limited to: setup and maintenance of dynamic models; delivery of short-term and long-term production profiles to support Field Development Project, Business Plan, Rig Schedule Optimization and other ongoing RMG activities. Conducts complex reservoir engineering and simulation studies to support evaluation of asset development projects, identifies and evaluates production optimization opportunities. Works with other teams to ensure alignment in main assumptions of reservoir simulation workflows. Further develops the modeling workflows to meet RMG needs. Participates on engineering study teams and represents RMG and TCO during technical meetings, as required. Represents the company and engages with regulatory bodies, as required. Exhibit a strong commitment to safety and environmental issues and promote this attitude in everyday work setting. Follow process safety management guidelines as established by TCO and industry. Support the TCO way in protecting people and the environment. Reinforce compliance with all industry and TCO safety instructions.
Job Specification and requirements:
Republic of Kazakhstan Citizenship; Engineering Degree in Petroleum Engineering; 4+ years of applicable experience in oil and gas industry; verbal and written fluency in Kazakh, English and Russian; computer skills in MS Office, presentation skills. Problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and on multiple tasks; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; and skills and history of creating positive change.
MS Degree in Petroleum Engineering is highly desirable; Knowledge and experience in field development plans, reservoir management, carbonate geology and hydrodynamic modeling, surveillance and analysis, reserves estimation and production forecasting, skills in working with software in the field of engineering and geological & hydrodynamic modeling (IPM PETEX Suite, Intersect, Petrel), Subsurface and Surface Coupled Modeling; Knowledge of programming languages (Python and etc.).
