On behalf of our client, a leading Group of Companies in the Energy sector, we are seeking a driven and ambitious GL & Accounting Supervisor to join their team based at their HQ in Nicosia, Cyprus.

GL & Accounting Supervisor - Ref. (5574/GLAS/ESS/CY)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition.
Ensure all records and activities comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
Handle or supervise end-of-period close processes, such as reviewing journal entries, bank reconciliations, and inventory reconciliations.
Coordinate and manage the preparation of materials for external audits, maintaining clear and effective communication with auditors.
Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures that align with organizational goals, ensuring adherence to established standards.
Manage VAT and tax matters in full compliance with Cyprus tax and VAT laws.
Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to support management in making informed decisions.
Take on additional accounting and finance-related responsibilities as needed, adapting to the changing requirements of the team and organization.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
Professional Finance Body Qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.
Minimum 3+ years post qualification and/or industry experience. Previous experience in a similar position, demonstrating comprehensive expertise in financial management essential.
Excellent proficiency in both Greek and English languages, both verbal and written.
Exceptional planning and organization skills to efficiently manage complex tasks and projects.
Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to assess financial data and make informed decisions.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines without compromising quality.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and reports to diverse stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, organized and flexible, capable of adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
Proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications to analyze data and create financial reports.
Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion would be advantageous, although not mandatory.
