Mechanical Design Engineer Level I - Perth Based - Global Renewables Project - Tier 1 client

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in their office in Perth. They are recognised for their strong project portfolios, which include significant achievements in the mining, oil & gas, and renewable energy industries. With a diverse and solid pipeline of projects, they can offer long-term contracts that they are open to convert into ongoing or permanent arrangements, depending on your preferences.

Scope of the role:

Deliver discipline specific engineering services that meet our client, its client’s applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Perform discipline specific engineering services such as preparation of detailed design deliverables including but not limited to drawings, specifications, calculations and reports.
Communicate effectively within the team, with clients and other project stakeholders.
Technically evaluate vendor equipment supply proposals.
Establish and maintain good working relationships within the organisation and with the client and stakeholders.

What you'll have:

A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline with technical and practical experience in the Mechanical / Piping disciplines.
3+ Years experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role working on resource sector projects.
LNG / Oil & Gas project exposure is highly desirable.
Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to our client.
Working knowledge in design and specification such as Shell and Tube heat exchangers, Air cooled heat exchangers, Process columns including internals, drums and pumps is preferred.
Experience with pressure equipment design standards; ASME and Australian standards, including Australian requirements for verification and registration is preferred.
Experience working with API and TEMA standards for equipment listed above.
Understanding of piping and pipe supports and the interfaces with mechanical equipment.
Skilled in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software including: Navisworks, Bluebeam / Adobe Suite.
