Position Overview:
Our client, a large independent seed company is seeking a driven and dynamic District Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in maintaining and growing the Company’s sales goals. This role focuses on driving value through the sales process by leveraging personal and technical effectiveness to elevate the customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding sales within the Southeast MN and Northeast IA regions, focusing on corn, soybean, and alfalfa seed products.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership: Drive sales of corn, soybean, and alfalfa seeds within the assigned territory, meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Customer Development: Identify and engage new key customers, understand their unique business needs, and develop strategic plans to drive territory growth.
Marketing Execution: Implement innovative marketing and sales strategies to enhance product visibility and drive customer engagement.
Goal Achievement: Set ambitious sales goals and develop actionable plans to expand market share and sales opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong, profitable relationships with existing customers while continuously identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
Agronomic Support: Provide expert advice to customers on product selection and placement based on specific agronomic requirements and best practices.
Market Expansion: Work proactively to develop new business opportunities, leveraging market insights to expand the company’s footprint in the region.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in applied agronomy or seed sales, with a proven track record of success.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Product Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of corn, soybean, alfalfa, and wheat seeds, with a deep understanding of agricultural production practices.
Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Travel: Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed to meet customer and business needs.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform tasks that require physical effort.
Work Environment: Ability to work independently from home, managing time and resources effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using Microsoft 365 and Seedware for data management and communication.
Self-Motivation: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
