The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which supports women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries, is seeking a creative and ambitious professional to enable the Foundation to significantly scale income generation and partnership development, and build the charity’s profile.

The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women exists to create a future where women everywhere enjoy equal economic opportunities so they can thrive. The Foundation was founded in in 2008 by Cherie Blair CBE KC and to date has supported over 261,100 women to transform their businesses and lives, raising over £23million to this cause. In partnership with organisations in more than 100 countries, the foundation delivers training, facilitates mentoring, and shares knowledge to help women start, sustain, and grow businesses.

The role of Director of Fundraising and Communications is pivotal to the delivery of the charity’s strategy and ambitions to enable one million women entrepreneurs to start and grow successful businesses by 2030. The position will be responsible for the Programme Funding, Philanthropy, and Communications and Marketing teams, and will lead on a new income generation strategy to drive fundraising activities across philanthropy donors, family offices, corporates, foundations and institutional funding. The role also sits on the charity’s senior leadership team.

Alongside fundraising, this is a hands-on position where the successful candidate will have oversight of all aspects of communications including marketing, brand identity and reputation, crisis communications, thought-leadership development and audience analysis.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership and communications skills, alongside significant multi-income stream experience, leading a fundraising directorate in a not-for-profit organisation. They will have a track record in developing and delivering fundraising strategies to enable long-term sustainable income growth. They will also have significant experience of developing fundraising communities of high-net-worth individuals and personally stewarding very high-profile relationships, as well as in building and sustaining impactful partnerships. An understanding of programmatic work and preparing restricted funding proposals for programme delivery would be an advantage.
