Proxies

We created Proxies for when you want something to drink but you’re not drinking. By blending wine grapes, fruits, teas, spices, and natural botanicals, Proxies go way beyond the grape to capture everything that makes wine a great pairing with food—acidity, body, and tannin—without the alcohol.

In three and a half short years, Proxies has launched more than 80 blends, including celebrity collaborations with award-winning chefs and sommeliers, and been featured by publications such as Food & Wine, Wine Enthusiast, Forbes, Bloomberg, and Bon Appétit. Today, our products can be found at national players like Sprouts, along with regional gourmet grocers, wine retailers, and Michelin-starred restaurants across North America.

What You Will Do

As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will report directly to the board of directors and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth strategy, particularly focusing on wholesale expansion. You’ll oversee fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing. Collaborating with the board, you’ll define our values and mission, setting both short- and long-term goals that inspire and drive our success.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader to drive growth in the CPG and Beverage Alcohol adjacent arenas, particularly in retail and high-volume on-premise. You’ll define and execute a clear vision, working closely with our team to expand into new markets while honoring our established roots. In this role, you’ll challenge the norm and take smart risks to deliver real results. Your practical approach and analytical mindset will help you address operational challenges effectively. Responsibilities:

Financing & Capital Markets: Lead fundraising efforts, including venture capital raises and alternative financing.
Commercial Strategy & Global Growth: Lead GTM strategy for new channels and markets in conjunction with the company’s President and Sales team. Build a sales team prepared for growth across all key channels.
Corporate Management: Evaluate company’s financial, operational, and sales and marketing structures to plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies.
Business Development: Understand and leverage knowledge of our competitive landscape, partnerships, and other opportunities to diversify revenue streams and maximize returns.
Organizational Design: Work with the board and senior leadership team to develop an efficient team structure designed for growth.
Leadership Development: Support and empower business area leaders through decentralized decision-making and lean management principles.
Corporate Targets: Guide all department heads in establishing short- and long-term goals and quotas in line with corporate objectives
Shareholder Relations & Management: The CEO will be the lead point of contact for our investors, keeping them apprised of major developments and collaborating on strategy.
Board Communications: Lead board and committee meetings to ensure a productive exchange of ideas and expertise.

Qualifications:

5+ years in senior leadership or executive roles with a proven track record in scaling CPG and/or Bev Alc businesses.
Outstanding people leadership skills, including the ability to empower and unify teams through strategic alignment, decisive decision-making, thought leadership, culture-building, coaching and mentorship, and data-driven performance management.
A proven track record in helping companies transform and scale through clear direction, transparent communication, data-driven measurement, and effective execution.
Expertise driving organizational change management in environments with rapidly evolving business conditions and priorities.
Established network in CPG and/or beverage alcohol industries, with deep understanding of industry trends.
Remote role, ability to travel to Canada if based in the U.S.
