Staff DevOps Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the development and optimization of cloud infrastructure and deployment solutions for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing scalable, secure cloud-based systems, supporting on-premise deployments, and improving CI/CD workflows. This role also involves mentoring other engineers and troubleshooting production issues to ensure optimal performance of mission-critical applications.

Challenges you would face

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud-based infrastructure on AWS
Automate operational processes using Terraform and manage Docker Compose, Docker builds, and CLI tools
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic
Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis for production and self-hosted issues
Collaborate with development teams to support new feature implementations
Mentor engineers on best practices, tools, and technologies

The ideal candidate

10+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or related fields
Strong expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
Extensive experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
Proficiency in scripting languages (primarily shell scripting)
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic
Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and firewalls
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and GitOps practices

Published blogs or articles on complex enterprise tech challenges
Knowledge of SSO systems like OAuth and SAML
