Accountant

On behalf of our client, a reputable retail company in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a skilled Accountant to manage all financial operations independently.

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities

The person will be working alone in the accounting department ensuring that all accounting transactions are properly recorded and managed. The core duties will be to:
Manage all aspects of the company’s financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Prepare and oversee daily cash flow, monitor sales transactions, and reconcile discrepancies.
Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank statements and financial accounts.
Process payroll, including deductions and employee reimbursements.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and other retail-specific requirements.
Oversee end-of-year closing and work with auditors for financial reviews.
Implement and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard assets.

Position’s Requirements

University degree holder in Accounting or any other relevant field or Holder of LCCI Higher, or partly qualified
At least 3 years of experience working in the accounting field and preferably in retail
Organizational and planning skills
Detail Orientation
Communication skills

Working Hours: 10:00 - 18:00
Salary range: €1900 - €2100 gross * 13
