What You Will Do

PLANTSTRONG Foods seeks an experienced Director of Natural Sales to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of managing external sales brokers in a small food business. You will lead, manage, and drive PLANTSTRONG's all-natural retail channel business. This individual is responsible for delivering annual revenue and trade spending targets within the Natural Channel while working with the SVP of Sales & Ops on expanding strategic retail relationships across multiple channels nationwide.

Responsibilities:

Develop and hit key sales targets: $, units, velocity, trade spend, stores, forecast accuracy, ACV, etc., while being fully aligned with the broader Company mission and financial objectives.
Develop and execute the company sales strategy and operating policies.
Call and sell directly to key accounts.
Develop and manage an outsourced sales team, brokers, and distributor network.
Work closely with Operations to ensure a coordinated approach to customer fulfillment at the lowest possible delivered cost.
Develop and provide accurate forecasts to support the S&OP process.
Work with the outsourced trade spend management team to ensure timely collections, accurate discounts and returns, and payment resolution issues.
Work closely with Marketing to ensure a coordinated approach to the consumer and customer, including sales collateral, in store marketing materials, and field marketing programs
Ensure flawless order entry processes and stellar customer service.
Develop and closely manage trade spend budget.
Create and manage sales operating budget.
Ability to travel domestically as needed.
Report to the SVP of Sales & Ops and present monthly managed business performance and updates to the leadership team.
Represent PLANTSTRONG at key industry and customer trade shows and events.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate enjoys being in the mix of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company and is passionate about food. The Director of Natural Sales is excited to work cross-functionally with a high attention to detail to keep projects on track while meeting high-quality standards. This person must be resourceful, have previous experience in the CPG industry, and have a genuine interest in the natural foods space. You also understand and are potentially passionate about Plant-based foods. Experience working with and developing new relationships with key natural accounts is a requirement. Preferred to be based in the Austin, TX area.

Qualifications:

9+ years of sales experience in the natural food and beverage CPG industry, with a passion for a plant-forward lifestyle.
Resourceful self-starter with strong relationship-building skills.
Very proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications.
Direct calling and selling experience with key natural food retailers.
Direct broker and wholesale distributor management.
“Bottom-up” Forecasting, budget management, and financial literacy.
Roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get results today.
Sales leadership experience with start-ups and/or small companies.
Outstanding attention to detail, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
Well-honed negotiation skills.
