The Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation which supports the work of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an experienced brand, marketing and communications professional to become their Director of Marketing and Engagement in a newly created role.

The Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation is an independent foundation that has been investing in a healthier society for more than 500 years. This position brings together previous director roles at the Foundation into a new strategic role responsible for developing and implementing marketing and engagement strategies for the Foundation’s three hospital charities - Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Guy’s Cancer Charity and Evelina London Children’s Charity - to enable them to continue their vital work.

The role sits on the Leadership team and will work closely with the Executive Director of Charities to deliver against a four-year strategy, driving high quality, engaging and effective communications, products and platforms for the three brands. The Director will set out the role of brand, digital, and communications as strategic enablers for the Foundation’s fundraising ambition and charitable impact and will play a critical role working with the NHS Foundation Trust to put patients, families and staff, at the heart of increasing income to fund long-term support.

The ideal candidate will have substantial brand, marketing and communications expertise at a senior level, with experience in the charity sector, and a background of devising, planning and implementing integrated communications strategies. They will also have a strong background in overseeing communications that support fundraising and drive income growth alongside a deep understanding of digital channels, audience and digital innovation.

The new director will have experience of leading and fostering high performing teams with exceptional leadership skills that enable them to inspire and enthuse people, and to build collaborative and effective relationships internally and external to the Foundation. Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities will be combined with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Finally, candidates must share the Charities’ collective mission to support Guy’s and St Thomas’ deliver better, fairer and faster healthcare for all - beyond what the NHS can provide.
