SSPCA– Head of Individual Giving

Salary: £54,017-£60,168 per annum.

Contract: Permanent, full time hours.

Location: Remote with occasional travel within Scotland.

The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking a self-sufficient and ambitious fundraising professional to lead and develop their Individual Giving Team to raise funds from private individuals, recruiting and developing donors through the coordinated stewardship of individual relationships over the lifetime of support.

Since 1839 the Scottish SPCA has existed for one reason – to make Scotland a better place for animals to call home. The charity rescues, protects and leads the conversation on animal welfare.

Alongside the Director of Development, Brand & Engagement, the role will provide vision, leadership and effective strategy deployment across individual donor acquisition and retention, as well as digital fundraising activities. It will lead on the brand, media and creative strategies for all direct marketing campaigns to recruit and develop donors, and will ensure the maximisation of donor loyalty and lifetime value, which are key drivers for the Society’s overall financial success.

The post-holder will work strategically and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to support the development and implementation of the charity’s strategic and business planning process.

The successful candidate will have experience of senior strategic and operational leadership of a fundraising team and a strong demonstrable background in growing a large individual giving programme. They will have senior level experience of initiating, developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be combined with strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire and guide a team of colleagues and volunteers and to establish trust, credibility and buy in from a diverse range of stakeholders. They will be innovative and creative with a strong interest and commitment to animal welfare.
