The business is growing rapidly and we are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Regional Sales Manager to develop its growing business with grocery retailers in the East region.

What You Will Do

The Regional Sales Manager, East reports to the VP of Sales and requires a proven track record in achieving sales targets, managing brokers, developing customer-specific strategies, and using data to create fact-based presentations to drive positive sales results. Product lines include frozen fruit smoothies, acai bowls, dessert pops, and shelf stable nutrition bars.

Responsibilities:

Own the execution and delivery of annual sales plan for the East region
Account Management: Manage Natural and Conventional channel customers including Publix, Wegmans, Harris Teeter, Giant, Hannaford, The Fresh Market, Winn Dixie, Price Chopper, Ingles, Wakefern, Mom’s, Earth Fare, and other regional and independent grocers
Account acquisition: Work with broker teams to gain distribution at new key accounts/regional chains and manage those businesses once acquired. Some direct customer management may be required
Utilize customer sales data, SPINS, and other data sources to provide fact-based analysis and delivery business-building stories
Direct and monitor all aspects of trade promotion within region to ensure maximum trade spend impact and accountability
Manage broker partner sales contacts at the field and account executive levels
Develop timely and accurate forecasts and proactively identify risks and/or opportunities
Ensure marketplace execution of all retail programs within region
Monitor competition and address marketplace gaps

Qualifications:

5-8 years of professional sales experience (a combination of organic/natural products, natural channel, and conventional channel experience strongly preferred)
History of delivering sustainable growth and meeting or exceeding sales revenue objectives
Experience managing brokers
Must have experience with syndicated data such as SPINS
Ability to create sales presentations
Strong negotiation skills a must
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Solid analytical and technical skills in MS Office and CRM sales tools
Remote position with ability to travel 30-40% of the time including team offsite meetings, trade shows, customer meetings, and market visits
Candidate must reside east of the Mississippi
