We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Protection Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire protection systems in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have experience with fire alarms, sprinkler systems, extinguishers, and other fire suppression equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and extinguishers.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and codes.

Conduct routine inspections and performance tests of fire safety equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire protection systems and components.

Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.

Educate clients and building occupants on fire safety procedures and equipment usage.

Collaborate with other professionals such as electricians, contractors, and safety personnel to ensure systems are properly integrated.

Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely solutions to fire protection system issues.

Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in fire protection.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical certification in fire protection is a plus).

Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, NFPA, OSHA, RMEI, RMEG) preferred.

Proven experience in fire protection system installation, maintenance, and repair.

Knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Work Environment:

Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.

May involve working in hazardous conditions and at heights.

Protective equipment such as gloves, helmets, and safety glasses may be required.
