Job Description:
You will lead technical development of 3D data (point clouds/3D models) to facilitate data utilization in the construction industry as part of the national project. Working with project stakeholders, you will develop technologies for measuring 3D data that can effectively digitize traditionally manual processes such as design, process management, material management, and progress management. This addresses the imminent severe labor shortage in the ¥60 trillion construction industry. Working with external research institutions, you will handle comprehensive technical development from data acquisition methods to model generation, enabling product and service deployment after the project's completion.

Beyond construction, there is rapidly growing demand for digital alternatives in infrastructure maintenance due to labor shortages and aging infrastructure. You will also be involved in developing 3D data generation solutions for automated systems that integrate drones and other data collection devices.

Specific responsibilities include:

Verification and solution proposal for advanced point cloud processing from video data (data collection and analysis methods)
Comparison/verification of end-user requirements with 3D data and solution proposals
Optimization of operations from data collection (primarily drone-based) to image analysis
Feedback and improvement suggestions for video capture methods from point cloud processing perspective
Field measurement and verification of surveying data at construction sites

Required Qualifications/Experience

Experience in research/development related to 3D image processing and analysis
Experience in research/development related to point cloud data clustering and 3D model generation

Preferred Experience/Skills

Experience in commercializing developed point cloud analysis technology
Participation in industry-academia-government projects related to point cloud data and 3D models
