Lead Architecture Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Architecture Engineer to own and drive the technical architecture of their platform. This role involves designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems while collaborating closely with Product and Design teams. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in backend development, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring the platform's reliability, security, and efficiency.

Challenges you would face

Lead system architecture decisions to ensure platform scalability, reliability, and security
Design, develop, and maintain backend infrastructure using TypeScript or Python
Work on data pipelines, data modeling, and data processing to optimize user experience
Implement event tracking and analytics solutions to gain insights into user behavior
Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment
Manage cloud-based solutions (Google Cloud or similar) for operational efficiency
Collaborate with front-end engineers and product designers to deliver a cohesive platform experience

The ideal candidate

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of programming experience with strong expertise in backend development (TypeScript or Python preferred)
Proven experience in system architecture and web application frameworks such as Next.js
Familiarity with configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks like Jest or Playwright
Experience administering applications on Google Cloud or similar cloud platforms
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills for articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions

Plus

Experience integrating generative AI tools (e.g., Co-pilot, Cursor) into the development process
Experience deploying AI/ML-driven features or recommendations
Background in data-intensive product development
Familiarity with privacy and security compliance, such as HIPAA
