What You Will Do

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing key retail, broker, and distribution partnerships, and driving revenue growth in alignment with company objectives. We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Sales to drive growth in the conventional and natural channels. The Director of Sales will work closely with internal teams and external partners to optimize sales execution, maximize market opportunities, and strengthen brand presence.

Responsibilities:

Build and nurture strong partnerships with retail and distribution accounts in key natural and conventional channels.
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
Consistently exceed sales targets and KPIs, manage trade spend and promotions.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize profitability while maintaining brand integrity.
Drive brand awareness through effective marketing and promotional campaigns in partnership with the marketing team.
Oversee product launches in retail settings, coordinating with inventory planning and reset schedules to ensure smooth execution.
Manage product forecasting to optimize inventory levels and reduce stock shortages.
Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
Represent the company positively at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.

Your analytical mindset easily pulls data into meaningful selling stories. Building and maintaining relationships with key accounts and retail partners comes naturally to you and you have impeccable communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

7+ years of sales experience within the CPG industry. Experience with candy or confectionery, a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
Sales experience within the natural and conventional grocery channels, along with distributor management (KeHE and UNFI), required.
Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Demonstrated success building and managing businesses at retailers like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Albertsons Safeway, Publix and other best-in-market retailers.
Well-established network and connections with buyers, brokers, and distributors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies and insights.
Proficiency with syndicated data tools like Nielsen or SPINS.
Strategic thinking skill with the ability to develop and execute effective sales plans.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively present to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
