EnableGreen seeks an experienced Renewable Energy Technical Director to oversee and support global renewable energy projects for a leading independent power producer (IPP). This role requires deep technical expertise in solar, wind, and hydro projects, as well as the ability to collaborate with regional development and construction teams to ensure best practices and successful execution.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, project assessment, and strategic guidance on construction, development, and operational challenges. You will play a key role in contract negotiations, technical due diligence, and optimising project assumptions to ensure profitability and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities

Oversee and provide technical guidance on global renewable energy projects, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Evaluate project feasibility, including technical assumptions, design specifications, and energy yield assessments.
Collaborate with local development and construction teams to implement best practices and optimize technical solutions.
Monitor construction progress, troubleshoot technical challenges, and provide engineering insights to enhance performance.
Support contract negotiations by reviewing technical aspects of EPC, O&M, and PPA agreements.
Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements across different geographies.
Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and industry trends that improve energy efficiency and asset performance.
Act as a key technical liaison between internal stakeholders, investors, and external partners.
Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to enhance project viability and reliability.
Lead technical due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions and greenfield developments.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, and execution.
Experience working in a global IPP, EPC contractor, or renewable energy consultancy.
Strong knowledge of international energy markets, regulations, and technical standards.
Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Hard skills

Strong technical background in renewable energy systems, particularly solar, wind, and hydro projects.
Project Development & Execution - Proven experience overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale renewable projects.
Deep understanding of integrating renewable energy into power grids and energy storage systems.
Familiarity with EPC, O&M, and PPA contracts, as well as environmental and regulatory frameworks.
Technical Due Diligence with the ability to assess and validate project assumptions, feasibility, and risk management.
Understanding of battery storage technologies and hybrid energy systems.
