Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for a Full Stack Engineer to join the founding team of a next-generation infrastructure startup reimagining the insurance industry. Responsibilities

Contribute to the company’s product and technical vision as a founding team member
Partner closely with product, design, and growth teams to bring the MVP to life
Build and maintain scalable APIs, data infrastructure, and full stack solutions
Balance long-term architecture with hands-on iteration and fast deployment cycles
Operate cross-functionally—contributing to product thinking, agile practices, and engineering excellence
Independently own features and initiatives while navigating ambiguity with confidence
Mentor and support future engineering hires as the team expands

Requirements

5+ years of experience in full stack development using languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Node.js
Strong architectural skills and experience with backend platforms, APIs, automation tools, and SaaS applications
Proven ability to deliver 0-to-1 products and work in startup environments
Deep familiarity with building high-quality APIs and improving developer experiences
Entrepreneurial mindset—adaptable, hands-on, and eager to tackle complex problems
Track record of leading major technical initiatives and cross-functional collaborations
Comfortable working in a remote-first, global team with asynchronous workflows

Bonus Points

Exposure to agentic systems, AI experimentation, RPA, or developer tools
Experience with technologies like FastAPI, Django, Pydantic, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS S3
A portfolio showcasing both backend systems and frontend applications
