Litigation Paralegal, Employment (Wage & Hour/PAGA or FEHA)

The Opportunity

Paralegals in our Employment practice provide litigation support to our attorneys and partners who focus on Wage & Hour/PAGA Class Action (PAGA) and Single Action (FEHA). These roles manage a high volume of cases and requires the ability to be resourceful and multi-task with a high attention to detail. Experience at an employment law firm highly desirable. This position can be based in Oakland, Downtown Los Angeles, or Irvine.

Accountable for

Prepare correspondence, letters, pleadings and all forms of discovery.
Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity.  
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.  
Maintain case files on the Firm’s document and case management system.
Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials.  
Case/calendar/project management and client communication.  
Provide administrative support to the legal team.

Qualifications

3+ years of Paralegal experience in a law firm employment practice focused on PAGA or FEHA
Well versed in e-filing in State, Federal courts. Appellate court and administrative agency experience is a plus.
Experience propounding/responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation/arbitration/trial preparation.
Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels across the Firm.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. 
Proficient in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw or similar platforms.  
Experience using Litify or similar case/document management systems.
Spanish fluency and proficiency with Microsoft 365 strongly preferred.

Compensation

Compensation based on experience: $72,800 -$104,000
