What You Will Do

This role is responsible for managing fixed assets, supporting monthly close processes, reconciling sales tax, and overseeing financial reporting areas such as borrowing base calculations and prepaids. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

MCB Accrual & Deduction Monitoring: Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing and customer-based promotional spend (MCB) accruals and deductions, ensuring proper accounting and validation with budget.
Borrowing Base Reporting: Prepare and reconcile borrowing base certificates and month-end reporting; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely submission and compliance. Support semi-annual bank field exam.
Sales Tax Reconciliation & Email Monitoring: Ensure compliance with state sales tax policies and tax filings and accounts across multiple states through compliance software; monitor and respond to tax-related emails and correspondence to ensure timely resolution.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations including prepaid expense tracking to ensuring proper alignment with financial reporting periods.
Fixed Assets Management: Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Systematize, track and report on project spend vs budget.
Project Support: Participate in and lead special projects and process improvements as assigned by management, supporting business initiatives and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, in the CPG sector.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
Proficiency in MS products, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of trade management systems such as Vividly strongly preferred.
Knowledge of sales tax software such as Avalara is ideal.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
