About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Fire Alarm or Fire Sprinkler Designer/Project Manager to join a growing fire protection contracting team based in New York. This hybrid role blends technical design with project management, ideal for someone who understands fire protection systems from both a drawing board and job site perspective. You’ll be managing end-to-end project delivery for commercial, residential, and institutional projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and layout fire alarm or fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
Prepare construction documents, system schematics, submittals, and material lists
Perform or review hydraulic calculations or voltage drop calculations, depending on discipline
Manage project schedules, budgets, and field coordination from design through closeout
Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and AHJs to ensure timely delivery and code compliance
Attend site walks, inspections, and project meetings as needed
Act as primary point of contact for clients during the design and construction phases
Support estimating and proposal development for future projects

Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in fire alarm or fire sprinkler design and/or project management
NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems or Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred or in progress)
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit
Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and New York City fire codes
Project coordination and field experience is highly desirable
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
