About the Role:

We’re partnering with a respected and growing multi-discipline engineering consultancy to find a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead complex projects across a variety of industries including healthcare, higher education, industrial, commercial, and government facilities.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based out of offices in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Jacksonville, Florida. You’ll join a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your technical expertise and leadership will drive impactful, code-compliant fire and life safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

🧯 Lead the design of fire protection systems including fire suppression, fire alarm, mass notification, and smoke control systems
📐 Conduct fire and life safety code analysis and performance-based design
📊 Manage and deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining technical excellence
📝 Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports in coordination with architectural and MEP teams
🤝 Collaborate with clients, contractors, AHJs, and internal teams
👨‍🏫 Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience
📈 (Optional) Contribute to business development efforts through client interaction and proposal support

Qualifications:

✅ Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
✅ 8+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, ideally within a consulting environment
✅ Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection or eligible for reciprocity
✅ Deep knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC/IFC, and local codes
✅ Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation software (e.g., HydraCALC, AlarmCAD)
✅ Strong communication skills and experience in client-facing roles
✅ Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and lead multiple projects
