Senior Low Voltage Designer

We are looking for a Senior Low Voltage Designer to join a growing technology design and consulting team. This role involves leading the design and documentation of low voltage systems across a range of projects, including new builds, renovations, and system upgrades.

You’ll work on standalone systems as well as large-scale, integrated projects. Systems include IT networks, communications infrastructure, physical security, audio-visual, and structured cabling. Experience in electrical power systems is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end design process for low voltage systems, from initial concept to final construction documents
Develop system concepts and recommend design strategies based on each project’s scope and requirements
Produce engineering deliverables including load calculations, equipment selection, layouts, and schedules
Conduct system evaluations, studies, and cost estimates to support project development
Create detailed construction drawings and technical specifications using CSI format
Coordinate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout all project phases
Support construction administration activities, including site visits, technical reviews, and submittal responses
Help manage project resources and budgets in collaboration with the wider team
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and contribute to internal design standards

Qualifications

Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
10+ years of experience designing low voltage and/or electrical systems
RCDD or equivalent industry certification preferred
PE license (or eligibility to obtain one) is a plus
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office tools
Familiarity with architectural and engineering workflows and documentation
Ability to manage workload independently while working effectively within a team
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Active involvement in relevant professional organizations is a plus
