Head of Engineering

Overview

Our client is seeking a Head of Engineering to join their founding team and lead the development of a mission-driven product focused on women’s health. This is an opportunity to co-own the product vision, define the AI strategy, and build out the engineering and product infrastructure from scratch. The ideal candidate is not only highly technical but also creative, passionate about user-centered design, and eager to make a meaningful impact in the health tech space.

Challenges you would face

Co-owning the product vision and AI strategy in collaboration with the founding team
Defining and executing engineering and product processes across the stack
Leading and scaling the engineering team in a remote, asynchronous environment
Contributing to feature ideation, development, testing, and debugging
Participating in planning, code reviews, and technical ceremonies
Improving internal tools, workflows, and documentation
Providing technical support during assigned on-call rotations

The ideal candidate

5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, architecture, scalable systems)
Proven track record in cross-functional product development from ideation to delivery
Fluent in English (C1 or above) and Spanish (B2 or above)
Experience working in fast-paced, remote startup environments
Passionate about user-centered design and improving women’s health
Comfortable working with and integrating AI tools into workflows
Experience in B2C product development

Plus

Experience with Swift UI and iOS development
Interest or background in mobile development
Familiarity with the Shape Up methodology
Enthusiasm for building delightful user experiences and participating in design reviews
