What You Will Do

As an HVAC Technician at Building Technology Systems, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC systems and components, including boilers, chillers, large roof top units and VFD’s.

Responsiblities:

Perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment (up to 100 lbs), climbing ladders or scaffolding, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
Operate and maintain HVAC tools and equipment (e.g., gauges, recovery machines, power tools) in compliance with safety and industry standards.
Work flexible and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed to meet job demands and complete assignments.
Safely perform work in extreme weather conditions, including rooftop service in hot and cold environments.
Accurately document and communicate all services performed, as well as recommended or required work, using written or digital reporting systems.
Read, interpret, and understand electrical drawings/schematics
Work in conjunction with associated contractors such as General, Mechanical, Test and Balance, and Electrical to deliver a complete and quality finished project.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively, demonstrating punctuality, respect, and clear communication with customers and team members.
Participate in the on-call rotation (every 5-6 weeks) and respond promptly to service needs outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications:

Experienced commercial HVAC technician with 8+ years of experience
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of Commercial HVAC Equipment and or components in a timely manner.
Ability to use power tools, safety equipment, and HVAC tools- recovery machines, gauges, etc. as needed.
Ability to drive large vans and trucks in all weather conditions.
Ability to work on rooftops and in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold)
Ability to clearly and accurately describe and document services that are either recommended, required, or performed.
Ability to handle stressful situations that may occur with this type of work.
Ability to multi-task
Availability to travel for work. Overnights as long as needed to complete work.
Availability to work late hours as needed 14-hour days including weekends as needed. Normal business hours are 7 am-4 pm
Ability to complete paperwork in a timely manner.
Must be able to work with chemicals in a safe manner.
Experience and knowledge of hydronic systems and pneumatic controls preferred.
