Simek’s is a purpose-driven, high-growth frozen food brand on a mission to make mealtime easier and more meaningful. With a national presence and products in more than 6,000 stores, we offer clean-label, craveable favorites like our top-selling frozen meatballs and lasagna.

What You Will Do

As Simek’s continues to scale—in terms of products, distribution, and revenue—we are seeking a driven Brand Manager as an integral part of the Brand Management/Marketing team. This role works closely with the marketing and sales team to provide an ongoing assessment of the category, competition, retailers and the brand to drive strategy and inform decision making. The Brand Manager reports to the fractional CMO and will lead base business projects, plan and execute all retail shopper marketing, and drive monthly business reporting.

Responsibilities:

Drive base business projects, such as packaging renovation, line extensions, and core product renovation; lead cross-functional team in bringing these projects to-market
Develop a deep understanding of the consumer target to recommend and execute ongoing product, packaging and communication optimizations
Develop and implement consumer-driven brand strategies that grow brand health and accelerate category performance
Build strong account-specific plans and execute all digital and in-store programs across our retailers; assess data and performance to optimize activities
Oversee and optimize digital retail platforms and advertising, such as Instacart, WFOA, Citrus, Roundel Media, and Criteo
Craft compelling sell stories and partner with Sales on customer presentations/sell sheets/buyer-facing communications as needed
Monitor and report on effectiveness of campaigns, promotions, and other marketing activities in partnership with Marketing team
Maintain a deep understanding of category, competitive and consumer dynamics
Using syndicated data and consumer insights to analyze in-market performance, inform strategy, diagnose performance, and identify opportunities for growth
Develop monthly business report and process in partnership with the CMO, CEO and Category Manager
Provide input into volume, profit and share objectives. Work with the team to manage projects to help deliver against these objectives
Oversee the commercialization of new products and packaging, partnering with R&D and co-manufacturer teams
Create all product and packaging briefs to support new product pipeline
Develop new product sell decks and sell sheets to support the sales process
Partner with Marketing team to develop high-impact GTM strategies and marketing plans, including high-impact promotions, advertising and packaging

The Brand Manager will need to be a quick study and independent self-starter, willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment and comfortable taking on a high degree of responsibility and autonomy. The ideal candidate will have a creative bent and love taking on challenges with a fresh perspective and creative mind. Someone humble enough to tackle low level mundane tasks some days and then drive high-level strategic discussions the next. One who works well with teams and can listen while still sharing a strong point of view. This person has a can-do attitude, stays calm under pressure, and can lead in the face of uncertainty with a great sense of humor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
4+ years brand management experience; CPG experience in food or natural products preferred
Exposure to P&L management and experience developing business strategies from insights and data
Experience in packaging development, new product launches, and commercialization processes
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Experience with SPINS / Numerator / IRI / ACNielsen Consumption / Category Tools
Experience formulating and distilling analysis into monthly business reviews
Experience managing retailer media platforms, such as Instacart and Criteo
Experience with innovative campaigns and media tactics a plus
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; basic skills in Canva
