Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer to oversee occupational health, safety, and environment (HSE) compliance at our large-scale manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing safety standards, conducting regular audits, and driving a culture of zero incidents across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Implement statutory safety regulations and ensure compliance with the Factories Act and other applicable laws.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across plant operations.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
Organize safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for workers and supervisors.
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to integrate safety into day-to-day operations.
Maintain statutory records, liaise with government authorities, and ensure timely reporting.

Candidate Profile:

Qualification: Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS / DIS / PDIS) offered by the Central Labour Institute (CLI) or Regional Labour Institutes (RLIs).
Graduate in Science/Engineering (preferred) with specialization in safety management.
3–8 years of experience as a Safety Officer in manufacturing / process industry (feed, food, fertilizer, chemicals, or similar).
Sound knowledge of statutory requirements, safety standards, and EHS best practices.
Strong communication skills with the ability to train and motivate workforce.
