Accounts Assistant (AP & Accounting Support)

Location: Remote (LATAM / Philippines preferred)
Compensation: (The final offer is at the client’s discretion and depends on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)

LATAM: USD $1,200 – $1,600/month (mid-level), USD $1,600 – $2,000/month (senior)
Philippines: USD $1,200 – $1,600/month

Schedule: Flexible, with overlap in U.S. business hours, MST timezone

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our property management finance team. The focus on the role is general accounting responsibilities including; Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Excel reporting, reconciliations etc. enabling the candidate to grow into a broader finance role over time. Expertise in AppFolio and other property management software is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Financial Processing

Review, code, and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and on time
Prepare payments via ACH, wire transfer, check, or other approved methods with proper approvals
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
Maintain organized AP records and documentation for audit readiness

General Accounting Support

Assist with accounts receivable tasks, bank reconciliations, and monthly close processes
Support preparation of financial reports, summaries, and internal dashboards
Help maintain internal controls and compliance with company policies and tax regulations
Participate in ad hoc accounting projects and system-based reporting

Systems & Process Improvement

Utilize AppFolio for property management accounting tasks, including payables, receivables, and reporting
Leverage other accounting systems (QuickBooks, Excel, or similar) to track expenses and manage workflow
Identify opportunities for improved efficiency, automation, and process enhancement in accounting operations

Growth Opportunities

Expand responsibilities into accounts receivable, payroll, reporting, or broader finance functions
Gain experience with property management financial operations and compliance
Opportunity to develop into a more senior accounting or finance role over time

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
2–5 years of accounts payable experience; property management or real estate experience a strong plus
Proficiency in AppFolio and general accounting software; advanced Excel skills required
Strong understanding of accrual accounting, vendor management, and financial workflows
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent English communication; bilingual skills (Spanish/Portuguese) a plus for LATAM candidates
Demonstrated interest in growing into a broader accounting/finance role
