Role: Bookkeeper

Priority Location: South Africa

Working Hours: 9AM - 5PM (GMT) Mon - Fri

Salary Range: $1700 - $2500 USD per month (The final offer is at the client’s discretion and depends on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple dental clients.
Process invoices, receipts, payments, and daily bank reconciliations in Xero.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and cash-flow updates.
Reconcile payroll journals submitted by UK payroll providers.
Communicate proactively with clients regarding queries, missing documentation, and financial updates.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and best practices.
Support end-of-year processes and work closely with UK accountants.

Qualifications:

Required

Based in South Africa with reliable internet connection.
Proven experience using Xero (certification preferred).
3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably for UK clients.
Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping processes, VAT, and reporting timelines.
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
Ability to work fully remotely and during UK business hours.
A friendly person who is comfortable speaking to clients when necessary and is able to build and maintain a good rapport with them.

Preferred

Experience working with dental practices or other healthcare clients is an advantage.
