About the Role

We’re partnering with a respected Fire Engineering consultancy that’s growing its team in Vancouver. They are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with strong code consulting experience, the ability to lead projects, and the confidence to serve as a technical resource for clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead fire protection and life safety projects from concept to completion
Conduct building code consulting, alternative solutions, and performance-based design
Prepare technical reports, analyses, fire modelling, and code strategies
Coordinate with architects, engineers, developers, and authorities having jurisdiction
Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior fire engineers
Represent the consultancy in meetings, presentations, and client discussions
Ensure compliance with provincial building and fire codes, national codes, and relevant standards
Support internal quality reviews and best practices across the Vancouver team

What You Bring:

PEng (Professional Engineer) designation in British Columbia (required)
Certified Professional (CP) designation is an asset
7–20+ years of fire protection/life safety engineering experience
Strong background in code consulting and performance-based design
Solid understanding of the BC Building Code, BC Fire Code, NBC, and NFPA standards
Ability to lead multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and stakeholders
Experience working in a consultancy environment preferred
