Data Scientist

Overview

Our client is a leading e-commerce facilitator that helps global brands and retailers expand their sales in Latin America by providing access to multiple marketplaces through a single platform and reaching hundreds of millions of online customers. This company is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data team, developing descriptive and predictive models to improve decision-making and streamline processes in a fast-growing environment; this is a full-time contractor role with remote or hybrid work options, preferably based in Uruguay with openness to candidates in Argentina

Challenges you would face

Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data using advanced analytical techniques
Develop descriptive and predictive models that support better business decisions
Translate analyzed data into actionable insights and tangible business value
Propose data science solutions to address complex business problems
Create clear, high-quality data visualizations for diverse audiences
Collaborate with multiple departments to communicate complex data-driven findings and technical topics

The ideal candidate

Based in Uruguay preferably, with openness to candidates located in Argentina
Intermediate English level
Native or advanced Spanish level
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
Solid understanding of machine learning principles and techniques, demonstrated through coursework, work experience, or personal projects
Hands-on experience with data analysis tools and libraries such as Tableau, SQL, Python, or R
Strong data visualization skills
Ownership mindset with a strong focus on delivering results
Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment
Team player with an international and multicultural mindset
High level of empathy and collaborative attitude

Experience working with Amazon SageMaker
Experience with AWS cloud services
Knowledge of e-commerce and startup environments
