ax Manager or Senior Manager – Global Mobility (Germany)

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager / Senior Manager (Steuerberater) to join their Global Mobility team, supporting international clients with complex cross-border tax matters.

This role sits within a highly international environment and offers the opportunity to work closely with globally mobile employees, senior stakeholders, and multinational organisations.

Key Responsibilities as Tax Manager

Review and approve tax returns for globally mobile employees
Advise clients on international tax planning, payroll tax, and social security matters
Provide guidance on assignment structures, tax treaties, and expatriate benefits
Advise employees on tax equalisation and international tax obligations
Analyse compensation and payroll data to optimise tax outcomes
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on mobility-related tax matters
Stay up to date with international tax developments and share insights with clients

Additional Responsibilities at Senior Manager Level

Manage more complex and higher-value client portfolios
Take a leading role in client relationship management and business development
Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Consultants, and Senior Consultants
Provide strategic input on client engagements and delivery approach

Requirements

Qualified German Steuerberater (StB)
Fluent in German and English
Strong client-facing and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
Leadership experience required for Senior Manager level
Commercial mindset and ability to operate in an international environment
