Location: London (Hybrid).

Salary: £70-75,000 per annum.

Contract: Permanent.

The NSPCC is the UK’s oldest and largest children’s charity, and today their mission has never been more urgent. From tackling the challenges of online safety to delivering vital frontline services, they are responding every day to the changing world children are growing up in.

This is a pivotal moment for the NSPCC. The charity is establishing an Engagement & Fundraising Directorate to modernise how they connect with supporters and unlock new opportunities for growth. The Head of Audience Engagement & Campaign Planning will play a pivotal role in this work, in shaping how the NSPCC connects with the public.
What You’ll Do

Working closely with the Director of Public Engagement, you’ll lead the development of a unified audience strategy, define and prioritise key target audiences, and ensure the NSPCC’s products, campaigns and supporter journeys are driven by high‑quality insight. You’ll turn audience understanding into clear segmentation, effective engagement plans and meaningful supporter experiences.

You’ll also lead and develop the Audience Planning team, champion audience‑focused marketing across Engagement & Fundraising, and support colleagues in applying insight to improve decision‑making. By showcasing what great audience engagement looks like, you’ll help strengthen the charity’s impact and inspire teams across the organisation.

Who You Are

The NSPCC is looking for an experienced professional in consumer audience strategy and campaign planning, ideally in a big commercial B2C company or charity sector. You’ll bring a proven track record in developing consumer marketing strategies, deep expertise in audience strategy, and up to date knowledge of insight led public engagement. You will also have an advanced understanding of how customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing automation tools can drive effective fundraising/marketing strategies.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be a strategic, analytical thinker who can manage complex and evolving plans, turning detailed data into meaningful insight and communicating clearly with colleagues, senior leaders and boards. You’ll combine excellent organisational skills with a creative, solutions focused approach to improving systems and processes. Strong interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate, inspire and manage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
