About Joost Arijs
Joost Arijs followed pastry traning at Ter Groene Poorte. He refined his craft at patisserie Mahieu in Woluwe, at patisserie Ducobu in Waterloo, and as head pastry chef at the three-Michelin-star restaurant Hof van Cleve in Kruishoutem. Perfection and innovation are the key words for patissier and chocolatier Joost Arijs. No-nonsense pastry, no extreme or heavy flavor combinations, no over-the-top decorations. Everything revolves around the purity of the ingredients, refined flavors, and textures. His pure creations are a delight for all the senses.

As an intern at Joost Arijs, you will gain hands-on experience in both patisserie and chocolaterie. Working closely with the team, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations and learn the complete production process from start to finish.

Requirements

Culinary student or graduated in Culinary or Pastry Arts
Passion for pastry-making and a strong desire to create high-quality desserts
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Proficient understanding of pastry techniques and baking methods
Strong team collaboration skills and communication
Proficiency in English

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce a wide range of pastries and desserts in accordance with the high standards set by Joost Arijs.
Maintain the quality and presentation of pastries while adhering to recipes and specifications.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and adhere to health and safety standards.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen.
Keep the kitchen area and equipment clean and organized.
Participate in training sessions to improve skills and techniques.
Assist in managing inventory and supplies for the pastry kitchen.
