Position: Junior Accountant
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM EST
Salary Range: $1500 - $2000 (Final offer depends on client's approval and their overall assessment of the candidates skills and experience)

About the job:
The Jr. Staff Accountant supports the finance team by performing essential accounting functions, including data entry, account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and possess a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing financial statements and reports under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoice processing, and posting journal entries.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and verifying documentation.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both digital and physical.
Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash transactions.
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts through data collection and initial analysis.
Help ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Communicate with vendors, clients, or departments to resolve basic invoice or payment issues.
Provide documentation and support during audits or financial reviews.
Stay informed on accounting standards and participate in team training and process improvements.

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role.
Familiarity with basic accounting functions and financial reporting.
Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software; familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and professional attitude.
