Financial Operations & Accounting Specialist

Location: Philippines (Asynchronous with PST overlap) or South Africa

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a senior-level Financial Operations & Accounting Specialist to own the financial operations function end-to-end. This role is responsible for managing the full financial administration ecosystem, from high-level financial modeling and reporting to detailed invoice tracking and reconciliations.

This is a role for a QuickBooks power user who values clean, accurate data, moves quickly, and operates with strong ownership. You will partner closely with offshore leadership to ensure financial reporting, processes, and controls are accurate, timely, and scalable.

Core Responsibilities

QuickBooks Ownership

Maintain full ownership of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) environment
Ensure all transactions are accurately categorized, reconciled, and audited
Maintain clean books with consistent financial controls

Financial Modeling & Reporting

Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting and growth planning
Use advanced Excel / Google Sheets functions, including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization
Provide clear financial insights to leadership

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

Manage full-cycle AR/AP processes
Track expenses and invoices across vendors and clients
Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure vendors are paid on time

Global Collaboration

Work closely with offshore team members to streamline financial and administrative workflows
Support cross-functional alignment on financial processes and reporting

Process Improvement & Future Readiness

Identify opportunities to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency
Proactively explore and implement advanced BI or reporting tools as the business scales

Schedule & Overlap

Training Phase

Initial onboarding requires close alignment with PST business hours

Ongoing Schedule

Asynchronous-friendly role
Requires a consistent 3–4 hour overlap with the end of the PST business day to support handoffs, real-time updates, and alignment with US leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Expert-level QuickBooks Online experience (non-negotiable)
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets proficiency
Strong understanding of financial reconciliation, reporting, and controls
Familiarity with US accounting standards (GAAP) and US tax concepts is a strong advantage
