About the Role

We’re looking for a Fire Protection Engineer with an EIT or PE and a degree specifically in Fire Protection Engineering. This role is fully remote and ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of fire protection system design and life safety code consulting.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers and clients on a wide range of building types — and if you have experience in healthcare facilities, that’s a big bonus as the firm continues growing in that space.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and review fire and life safety code analyses, compliance strategies, and technical reports.
Design and review sprinkler, fire alarm, and special hazard systems per NFPA and local codes.
Prepare drawings, hydraulic calculations, and design documentation.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs.
Conduct site visits (as needed) and prepare inspection reports.
Support junior staff and contribute to internal best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering (required).
EIT required; PE preferred.
2–8 years of experience in fire protection engineering.
Strong understanding of NFPA codes, IBC, and IFC.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and fire protection calculation tools.
Strong communication, technical writing, and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Experience

Project experience in healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, medical centers).
Prior work in life safety code consulting.
AHJ coordination and multi-state project exposure.
