Staff Accountant (AP & Bookkeeping Focus)

Location: South Africa or Latin America (Remote, Full-Time Contractor)
Compensation: $2,000–$3,000 USD/month
Reports To: Finance Leadership

We are a U.S.-based parent company operating multiple transportation businesses, including:

Non-emergency medical transportation (wheelchair-accessible vans)
General public transportation services
EMS/ambulance transport services

Over the past year, the organization has consolidated these entities under a single parent company and centralized financial operations, while maintaining controllers at each business line. As the company continues to grow, we are expanding our accounting capacity to support multi-entity operations with accuracy, speed, and structure.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly capable Staff Accountant to provide immediate accounting support across multiple related entities. This individual will take ownership of Accounts Payable and core bookkeeping functions while assisting with month-end close processes.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in multi-entity environments and enjoys bringing order and consistency to growing organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Own full-cycle Accounts Payable across multiple entities
Perform daily and weekly bookkeeping tasks
Maintain accurate general ledger entries
Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and supporting schedules
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and expense platforms
Support controllers with reporting and variance analysis
Ensure accurate intercompany entries and allocations
Help standardize accounting processes across entities
Maintain documentation and audit-ready financial records

Qualifications

3–6 years of accounting experience
Strong experience in AP and bookkeeping ownership
Exposure to multi-entity or multi-division accounting preferred
Experience assisting with month-end close
Strong Excel skills
High attention to detail and process discipline
Experience working remotely with U.S.-based companies preferred
Fluent English (written and verbal)
