We are a reputed headhunting company based in Colombo looking for a Senior Manager - Modern Trade / Head of Modern Trade for a leading FMCG company based in Colombo.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy aligned with business goals.
Lead and manage the entire sales team, including Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, and field staff.
Drive revenue growth through strategic planning, customer relationship management, and effective execution.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing reports for the senior leadership team.
Manage key accounts and develop strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and modern trade partners.
Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts.
Identify new business opportunities and expand into new markets or geographies.
Drive the implementation of digital tools and data analytics to improve sales productivity.
Establish sales targets and KPIs for the sales team and ensure regular performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with company policies, market regulations, and ethical standards.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive sales experience in the FMCG industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record in managing large sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
Strong knowledge of both Modern Trade and General Trade dynamics.
Experience with distributor management and retail execution.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office.
