We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka looking for an Imports Manager / Assistant Imports Manager for a leading pharmaceutical sector company based in Colombo. We are seeking an experienced Imports Manager / Assistant Imports Manager to oversee and support end-to-end import operations within a regulated Laboratory, Medical, or Pharmaceutical environment. This role is critical in ensuring compliant, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods from origin to warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end import operations, from supplier origin through to delivery at the warehouse
Nominate and manage freight forwarders and logistics service providers
Arrange international shipping, including air and sea freight
Oversee customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and documentation requirements
Coordinate delivery schedules to meet operational and commercial timelines
Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, forwarders, and customs authorities
Ensure adherence to industry regulations and quality standards applicable to laboratory, medical, or pharmaceutical products
Monitor costs, resolve shipment issues, and drive continuous improvement in import processes

Requirements:

Proven experience in import operations within the Laboratory, Medical, or Pharmaceutical sector
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade compliance
Experience managing freight forwarders and logistics partners
Degree or Diploma in Imports, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
